Welcome to Phelan, California! Phelan is known as the "Land of the Champagne Climate" and is located in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, northwest of San Bernardino.

This unincorporated town in San Bernardino County is just 10 minutes from Wrightwood, only a twenty minute drive from the heart of the Victor Valley, and 90 minutes from Los Angeles.

The 3,000 - 4,000 foot elevations and dry climate throughout Phelan make it an ideal spot for those who want a pleasant middle-ground between the mountains and valleys of Southern California. Phelan basks in the sun nearly 95% of the year, yet enjoys the seasonal changes.

Most homes are located on 2.5 acre lots, which does not allow for tract housing in most instances. Both conventional and mobile homes are permitted, but site-built homes are becoming more prevalent.

Education is provided through the Snowline School District, and the students are served by Phelan Elementary School, Baldy Mesa Elementary School, Quail Valley Middle School, and Serrano High School.

Utilities are provided by Southern California Edison, Verizon, Southwest Gas and local propane companies. Septic systems are currently utilized. Water is obtained through the Sheep Creek Water Company, as well as San Bernardino County.
